| Designed as an Italian palace, the Cotai Strip hotel mimics its Vegas sibling's Venetian theme, with lots of gold and ostentatious archways in the lobby as well as murals on its ceiling. Of course, the Venetian Macao offers those famous gondola rides throughout the ginormous all-suite hotel, which is the size of 56 football fields (no joke). The suites echo the Italian look with powder-blue-and-gold bedding and bolsters along with matching fabric flowing out of corona headboards. Workaholics will love the suites that feature a fax/copier/printer, but we'd call in sick and head to the hotel's Cirque du Soleil show, Zaia. After the show, check out the mini golf, browse in the 375-store Grand Canal Shoppes area (Benetton, L'Occitane and Shiseido all hold court here) or place your bets at the casino. Beware if you decide to take a dip in one of the five outdoor pools; there's construction going on next to the hotel and across the street, which can be a real buzzkill on your faux Venetian getaway. |
