| Sybarites flock to the Wynn Macau, and it's easy to see why. The high-ceilinged lobby sets the stage with the signature Wynn bright and whimsical carpet pattern with reds, golds and blues, an elaborate crimson chandelier and a back wall of windows that look out on the foliage-flanked pool. The rooms won't disappoint, either. The colors vary in each room - walls might be covered in rich chocolate-hued grass-cloth or ruby-colored fabric - but they are all bold and warm with duvet-topped beds, overstuffed sofas and cutting-edge technology, such as plasma TVs and remote-controlled window coverings. Suites have his and her bathrooms with personalized amenities, spa rooms and cozy dens. Get the warm staff at the spa to dote on you after you pick up something chic at Chanel or another one of the luxury shops on the premises. Then head for a private Cantonese dinner at Wing Lei, a traditionally inspired restaurant with striking red walls and dￃﾩcor, including a dragon made of 100,000 Swarovski crystals. Otherwise, there's Japanese at Okada (book a private room), Italian at Il Teatro and an international menu at Cafￃﾩ Esplanada to make you feel at home. End the evening at the Tree of Prosperity, an hourly light show and theatrical display that draws on Chinese beliefs. But before you go jetting off on your hedonistic getaway, be sure to book the Wynn well in advance, since it fills up quickly. (Be on the lookout for a new tower that's under construction and will add even more rooms and gambling space to the Wynn complex.) |
